10 vehicles capable of running long after the fuel warning light comes on
A well-informed driver knows that it's best to fill up with fuel when there's only a quarter left in the tank. Others prefer to wait longer and don't mind seeing the low fuel warning light on the dashboard.
On this subject, a recent survey by MarketWatch in the USA highlighted the vehicles that can cover the greatest distance on their fuel reserves.
The team didn't take the time to drive all the different models on the market until they ran out of fuel. Instead, they calculated the theoretical range provided by one-tenth (10%) of their fuel tank, taking into account their official average fuel consumption.
The top 10 looks like this:
- Toyota RAV4 Front-wheel drive - 117,8 km
- Ford F-150 XLT SuperCrew 4x4 - 115,9 km
- Honda Accord hybrid - 111,7 km
- Toyota Camry hybrid LE - 110,4 km
- Ram 1500 Tradesman Crew Cab 4x2 - 104,6 km
- BMW X3 M50 - 101,4 km
- Audi Q5 40 TFSI quattro - 91,9 km
- MINI 3 doors - 87,4 km
- Mercedes-Benz C 200 - 87 km
- Volkswagen Tiguan - 85,3 km
Now, what about the vehicles that can run for the shortest time after the low fuel warning comes on? MarketWatch has the answer here too:
- Hyundai Kona 2.0 Essential - 59,5 km
- Honda HR-V Sport All-wheel drive - 60,8 km
- Mazda CX-5 2.5 S Preferred - 61,5 km

As we all know, road and weather conditions, traffic and driving habits can influence reality, but it still gives a good idea.
