The Ferrari Amalfi debuts a convertible version
In 2025, Ferrari unveiled the new Amalfi, a successor to the Roma with a design and proportions that are very similar from front to back. Nearly a year later, the automaker naturally added a convertible version: the Amalfi Spider.
Very elegant, this model is designed to be identical to the coupe below the waistline, but it stands out thanks to its retractable soft top, which can open in 13.5 seconds while driving at speeds of up to 60 km/h. The cargo volume decreases from 273 to 255 liters, which is unchanged from the outgoing Roma Spider. When folded, the roof is only 22 cm thick, and the trunk capacity is 173 liters.
Another thing to know about the roof: according to Ferrari, its five layers provide sound and thermal insulation comparable to that of the brand’s hardtop roofs. It’s available in six colors and can be ordered with optional contrast stitching for an extra touch of style.
Speaking of colors, the Amalfi Spider introduces a new shade called Rosso Tramonto, which is that sort of burnt orange you can see here. As for the interior, which mirrors that of the coupe, it features a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.3-inch touchscreen, and another 8.8-inch screen on the right-hand side. It’s worth noting that Ferrari has ditched the touch controls on the steering wheel in favor of physical buttons following numerous complaints from its customers.
The Amalfi Spider seats four, although the rear seats are somewhat cramped. When the roof is down, a built-in wind deflector behind the cabin can be deployed at the push of a button to minimize wind turbulence at high speeds.
Under the long hood, the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 produces 631 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the rear wheels. The result: it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds—the same time as the coupe and one-tenth of a second faster than the Roma Spider. The electronic braking system, meanwhile, is borrowed from the 12Cilindri and the 296.
The first Amalfi Spiders are expected to arrive in Canada by the end of 2026 as 2027 models. The price has not yet been announced, but keep in mind that the Amalfi coupe starts at $295,401 before any options or taxes, including the luxury tax.
