Rightly or wrongly, range is holding many motorists back from making the leap to an electric vehicle. What's more, the phasing-out of government incentives won't help matters.
If you're planning to go ahead, here are the 10 electric vehicles with the best range in 2025. Note: data provided by Natural Resources Canada (NRC). Temperature, rim size and driving habits strongly influence the actual distance you can cover on a charge.
10. Polestar 3 Long Range 2025 - 563 km
The Swedish-born brand's first SUV is very important for the future of Polestar. And that's just as well, because this new single-engine (rear-wheel drive) livery manages to stand out for its range, even though it's at the back of the pack.
9. Tesla Model 3 Long Range 2025 - 584 km
Are we surprised to find another vehicle from the brand co-founded by Elon Musk on this list? Not. The brand's best-selling car continues to rack up sales that will be important for the rest of Tesla's history. In this case, the Model 3 that can run the longest without having to stop to refuel makes do with a single motor mounted on the rear axle.
8. Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC 2025 - 597 km
The Stuttgart-based giant hasn't convinced the majority with its all-electric vehicles, not least because of their unremarkable design. But all is not lost, as the most powerful variant of the EQS sedan is getting close to the 600 km mark between recharges.
7. GMC Sierra EV Maximum Range 2025 - 628 km
The 2025 model year will be more electrified than ever in the GMC camp. The two vehicles in the Hummer range are still in service, but there's also the Chevrolet Silverado EV's distant cousin, the GMC Sierra EV. Unfortunately for the latter, its long-range version has lost out to the WT version of the former.

The position of Tesla's big sedan may change somewhat, as range calculations could be revised downwards, as with other models that have seen their range melt away by 2025. But despite its age, Tesla's oldest car continues to amaze.

Here's another one that appeals to electromobilists not only for its originality but also for the quality of its products. And then there's the range, which doesn't disappoint in the case of the R1S SUV with two engines and 22-inch wheels.
4. Rivian R1T Dual Max 2025 - 676 km
Rivian's pickup does slightly better than its extended-roof equivalent. Almost 700 km without stopping is no mean feat. Like the R1S, the R1T rides on 22-inch wheels in this case.

Cadillac strategists like to compare the Escalade to the pinnacle of luxury in the utility segment. Well, with this impressive range for a heavyweight like the Escalade IQ, Cadillac now has one more argument to seduce a more upscale clientele... interested in electric adventure.
2. Chevrolet Silverado EV WT Maximum Range 2025 - 792 km
Is an electric pickup capable of close to 800 km range on a single charge possible? If RNC's figures are anything to go by, it seems so. It should be pointed out, however, that in the case of the Silverado EV, this is a “Work Truck” version aimed at contractors. Not bad for such a heavy vehicle, eh? The most “autonomous” version, intended for the general public between recharges, is nonetheless capable of covering 657 km on a single charge.
1. Lucid Aid Grand Touring XR 4RM 2025 - 824 km
The great champion of electric distance is the Lucid Air. A quick glance at the table available on the EnerGuide prepared by Natural Resources Canada confirms that the Lucid Air sedan shares, with the Silverado EV pickup, several of the top spots on the list when the range parameter is selected. It's quite a feat to be able to drive over 800 km without even having to stop. To achieve this, the Grand Touring XR sedan must be fitted with “small” 19-inch wheels.
