It's very difficult to predict what impact the Trump administration's decisions will have. However, it is clear that in this period of uncertainty, prices will only rise gradually. So don't expect to find a better deal in six months' time than you're finding right now. Whatever the outcome of this financial catastrophe hanging over our heads, the impact will undoubtedly be negative.

I'd add that March is a month when promotions multiply at the various manufacturers and offers are often tempting. Finance/lease rates are more aggressive, inventories are generous and dealers are generally more “understanding” when it comes to closing a deal.

It's possible that a transaction in the next few weeks could be the best you do this year, given the current context. However, if you're aiming for an electric vehicle, I'd recommend waiting until April 1, 2025. That's because, barring a reversal of fortune, the Quebec government's Roulez vert program should be relaunched on that date.

The latter will give you a $4,000 credit for the vehicle you're currently targeting. And remember, EV inventories will still be high on April 1.
