My-Start: an application to start your car from your cell phone
Our cell phone has become an indispensable tool in our daily lives. Not only do we store our contacts on it, but from now on, it is possible to make our grocery list, pay the parking meter and even program the recording of a TV show remotely. We discovered an application designed in Quebec, for Quebec, that will allow you to add another string to the bow of your phone: the control of your car.
My-Start already exists since 2014. Obviously, since its inception, many updates have been added in order to offer a functional application. However, in order to use it, you must first have a remote starter.
By installing My-Start, you will be able to: start and shut off your engine, lock and unlock doors, and open and close a motorized tailgate. Also, the application transmits real-time safety messages and car diagnostics.
A video demonstration of the My-Start application is available on YouTube.
What is also interesting is that the application has a large coverage in Quebec as well as in Ontario. You can consult the geographical maps on the My-Start website.
For those who fear the theft or loss of their cell phone, My-Start offers an additional protection in these cases. Normally, your cell phone requires a code to open it. Then, you can create a four-digit code directly on the application, to prevent someone other than you from starting your car.
It is possible to configure the application with an unlimited number of cars on your phone. However, only three phones can be configured for one car.
If you want to talk to a My-Start retailer, you will find a locator on the web page.
Other applications of the same type are available for iPhone and Android. However, you should know that none of them is specifically configured for the Quebec territory.
