Yeah, baby: Austin Powers' Shaguar could be yours!
You have to go back in time to be able to speak well of Jaguar these days. The once glorious luxury brand, which now only offers the F-PACE SUV, needs to completely reinvent itself. This will involve a new logo, a new image and a new approach, except that these have been widely criticized and even ridiculed by many in recent days.
What better way to take your mind off the dreary November weather than with this 1967 Jaguar E-Type, painted entirely in the style of the British flag? You'll probably recognize it from the Austin Powers trilogy of films, nicknamed “Shaguar”. It will go on sale on January 18, 2025, at Mecum's auction in Kissimmee, Florida.
Incredible but true: this is the one and only one that was used for filming and therefore driven by the colorful secret agent played by Mike Myers, not to mention his female sidekicks - letters of authenticity to back it up.
Remaining in a private collection since the end of the films, the car has occasionally been used by Jaguar for special events, in addition to benefiting from a restoration in the mid-2000s. It also appeared in the video clip for Madonna's song Beautiful Stranger.
A comprehensive mechanical update was recently carried out to ensure the smooth operation of the 4.2-litre in-line six-cylinder engine and four-speed manual gearbox. Disc brakes are also fitted to all four wheels. The odometer shows nearly 64,000 miles or over 100,000 km.
