Genesis and its all-inclusive service: what's left for pre-owned buyers?

While offering a range of sophisticated, well-crafted models that give buyers a lot of bang for their buck, Genesis understood that it needed to go beyond vehicles to distinguish itself from other well-established luxury brands, mainly those from Germany.

Its different approach is largely based on an outstanding customer experience and its service, which it calls Genesis at Home: product demonstrations and test drives at the customer's desired location, a simple, user-friendly online ordering platform (including financing planning and trade-in vehicle evaluation), delivery direct to the door by a Genesis representative, and valet parking for maintenance and repair appointments.

It's also worth mentioning that new Genesis vehicles are sold at fixed, non-negotiating prices, which include all applicable charges. Added to this is a highly competitive after-sales service, with a 5-year/100,000 km plan including not only a comprehensive warranty and 24/7 roadside assistance but also regular maintenance, the so-called valet service, two annual navigation system updates and Genesis connected services via the mobile app.

That's all very interesting, but what happens if you turn to a pre-owned Genesis vehicle? What advantages and privileges are still available?

First, there's the Genesis Select program. These are demonstrator vehicles in stock, available in limited quantities, but with lower mileage and a more attractive price. Each is thoroughly inspected and covered by the remaining portion of Genesis' 5-year/100,000 km no-cost maintenance plan, plus access to the brand's satellite radio and connected services. Best of all, these vehicles are ready for rapid home or office delivery, depending on the customer's choice.

As with new vehicles, these benefits are available to customers within a 50 km radius of the nearest Genesis dealer.

Then there's Genesis' Certified Pre-Owned program. These come with a 6-year/120,000 km limited powertrain warranty, including a 1-year/20,000 km extended warranty. They undergo a 191-point inspection to ensure their mechanical, aesthetic and safety condition and are accompanied by a detailed vehicle history report.

In addition, we offer free roadside assistance at all times, a replacement rental vehicle and reimbursement of expenses incurred in the event of trip interruption for up to 6 years and unlimited mileage from the initial in-service date. Extended warranties extend to 10 years/200,000 km. Finally, the exchange option gives you 10 days/1,000 km to return your certified pre-owned vehicle to your Genesis dealer and exchange it for another.
