5 classic car events to look out for this summer
Are you thinking of getting your hands on a classic car to reconnect with the driving pleasure of yesteryear, or just to spruce up your garage? Perhaps restore or modify it?
Of course, a good way to find inspiration and information is to attend the various enthusiasts' gatherings and classic car shows across the province, and even elsewhere in Canada and the United States. The list is much longer than you might think!
Here are five events taking place in Quebec this summer that you should mark in your diary...
Trois-Rivières Élégance - June 15-16, 2024
What better way to celebrate Father's Day? Élégance Trois-Rivières opens its doors to its third classic car contest and the presentation of historic cars. This exhibition on the esplanade of the Amphithéâtre Cogeco will be synonymous with class and elegance. Driver Bertrand Godin will act as honorary president, and the legendary Ford Mustang, celebrating its 60th anniversary, will be featured. More info here.
Quebec Belles Autos d’Hier – June 29-30, 2024
The 2024 edition will take place under the theme “Stars on Wheels” and will include the participation of comedian Michel Barrette with his 1989 Ford F-150 Bleu, starring in the TV series “Léo”. Among the many classic and modified vintage cars on display (1999 and younger), there will be a special tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Ford Mustang. What's more, visitors will be able to climb aboard a vintage car for a memorable ride.
Fort-Chambly Concours d'Elegance - July 12-14, 2024
On Saturday, for the very first time, modified and exotic cars will be accepted, in addition to original vintage cars, of course. Vehicles must be at least 25 years old. The highlight of the Montérégie event will be the prestigious Concours d'Elegance on Sunday, reserved exclusively for cars 25 years and over that have retained their original characteristics.
Granby International - July 26-28, 2024
It's the biggest show of its kind in Canada, and this year marks its 41st edition. For three days at Daniel Johnson Park, the Granby International is the ultimate festive gathering for classic car enthusiasts of all ages. Our team rarely misses an opportunity to attend, and you should too. Find out more here.
Quebec City Vintage Weekend - September 14-15, 2024
In collaboration with Belles Autos d'Hier, the Old Port of Québec relives the carefree spirit of the 1950s and 1960s for its 6th edition, welcoming over 200 vintage cars and motorcycles. Local antique dealers, restaurateurs, artisans and art galleries will take over rue St-Paul, Sault-au-Matelot and the Old Port of Québec for a retro flashback.
