Ford Mustang Mach-E: further price reductions of up to $11,000
Ford, which decided earlier this year to cut prices on most versions of the Mustang Mach-E crossover for 2023, is now announcing further significant price cuts as order intake picks up.
As a result, the Premium RWD Standard Range version drops $3,000 to $61,995 (MSRP). With the all-wheel drive system, the price is $64,995, a reduction of $2,250. With the larger battery that extends the range, prices are now $66,995 and $69,995 respectively, for a reduction of $11,000 and $10,250.
The California Route 1 eAWD Extended Range version has been reduced by $9,125 to $69,995. Finally, the GT Performance Edition Extended Range now costs $82,995, a reduction of $9,750.
One significant absentee from this list is the entry-level Select trim, which carries an MSRP of $56,995 and makes the Mustang Mach-E eligible for the $5,000 federal grant as well as the $7,000 Quebec grant. Once again, the price remains the same, as a Ford of Canada spokeswoman confirmed to the Car Guide.
Customers who have already placed an order and are still waiting for their vehicle will benefit from the reduced prices, needless to say.
New batteries and BlueCruise 1.2
By the way, the Mach-E Mustang with standard range will now carry lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Depending on the number of drive wheels, they will be able to travel up to 402 or 364 km (instead of 397 or 360 km). And in the case of the all-wheel drive variant, a gain of 45 horsepower is even on the agenda.
And that's not all. Ford claims that said LFP batteries can recharge to 100% more frequently at a residential charging station. With a public DC fast charging station, going from 10 to 80 percent is done in 33 minutes, five less than before.
The company also announces that the BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving system will be offered with a 90-day free trial. This means that customers who do not already include the subscription at the time of purchase will be able to do so at any time after the trial period. Be aware that BlueCruise version 1.2 now includes hands-free lane changing and automatic repositioning of the vehicle in its lane when others are in the adjacent lane.
Production of the Ford Mustang Mach-E will increase substantially in the second half of 2023 as the Mexican plant in Cuautitlán undergoes renovations to support increased capacity. Delivery times will be shortened, but how much remains to be seen.
