$10,000 and up: year-end bargains not to be missed
During this holiday season, many Quebecers will take advantage of a break to rest, recharge their batteries, and visit with family and friends. In short, there are many options, but for others, the last days of 2025 are also synonymous with shopping.
And that's good news, because the automotive industry is in turmoil on all fronts these days. In other words, some less popular models are currently being offered at staggering discounts. We've listed a few of them below, some of which offer savings equivalent to the price of an almost-new subcompact car. We're a long way from the bidding wars of just a few years ago, and this list confirms that interest in electric cars is waning.
Of course, we're going in reverse order, saving the best for last!
$10,000 discount on the 2026 BMW X7 xDrive40i, 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV, and 2025 Chevrolet Corvette
Tied for tenth place, these three road giants and this American sports car are all currently being sold at a $10,000 discount. The presence of the BMW X7 is surprising, but in recent months, the luxury segment has been facing an increasingly cautious customer base. GM's two electric vehicles, the Cadillac Escalade IQ and the Chevrolet Silverado EV, are also in this vein, as both command a fairly hefty MSRP. This is particularly worrying in the case of the former, which has only just been launched.
As for the Chevrolet Corvette, it's also surprising to see this American icon reduced so significantly, but the current economic climate isn't helping, and Chevrolet wants to move on to 2026 by selling off its remaining stock.
These offers end on January 2, 2026.
$11,000 discount on the 2025 Ford F-150 Lightning and the 2025 Jeep Gladiator Mojave
Following recent announcements about the discontinuation of the F-150 Lightning, or rather its transformation into an extended-range pickup truck, it comes as no surprise to see such a discount applied to an electric truck that has failed to win over consumers. Expensive and offered in only one body configuration, the electric F-150 never really threatened sales of the other F-150, the one that rolls off the assembly line with a combustion engine bolted between the front wheels.
In the Jeep camp, another pickup truck is eligible for a significant discount. More specifically, only the Mojave edition of the Gladiator is reduced by $11,000. However, for off-road enthusiasts, this could well be the long-awaited discount.
These offers end on January 2, 2026.
$12,250 off the 2025 Ram 1500
Also within the Stellantis empire, another pickup truck is currently heavily discounted, but the offer only applies to the more luxurious models. The Ram 1500 Laramie, Limited, Longhorn, Tungsten, and RHO are all eligible for this significant financial incentive. These well-equipped versions are powered by a twin-turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine. We're betting that the return of the HEMI V8 in 2026 will make Ram pickups popular again among Canadian buyers.
This offer ends on January 2, 2026.
$13,000 for the 2024 Acura ZDX
Acura's first venture into the electric arena was based on GM's Ultium platform. More specifically, Acura's mid-size crossover was assembled alongside the Cadillac Lyriq, a model considered more technologically advanced and offering a wider range of available variants. That's why the adventure of this second ZDX lasted only one model year: 2024. Remember that the first model, which appeared in the late 2000s, was also quickly withdrawn from the catalog, although in this particular case, the ZDX was ahead of its time.
This offer ends on January 2, 2026.
$14,000 for the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E
While the $11,000 discount on the F-150 Lightning is already substantial, the discount on the 2025 Mustang Mach-E is even more impressive. For those who still doubted the immense contribution of government rebates to the adoption of electric vehicles, here is further irrefutable proof that their withdrawal is hurting manufacturers who are diving headfirst into the electric arena.
This offer ends on January 2, 2026.
$16,000 for the VinFast VF 9
Still in its infancy, Vietnamese brand VinFast may even be threatened with withdrawal from North America at the time of writing. Construction of the factory in the United States is currently on hold, further undermining the North American operations of this young manufacturer that has staked everything on the shift to electric vehicles. The largest crossover, the VF 9, is currently heavily discounted, but it would take a genius to predict VinFast's fate over the next twelve months. In other words, is the significant discount worth it?
This offer ends on December 31, 2025.
$20,000 for the 2025 Polestar 3
The assembly location of this amazing crossover is hurting the Swedish brand. The Polestar 3 is being built alongside the Volvo EX90, a model that has just been canceled for 2026. The Polestar 3 remains a very fun-to-drive electric utility vehicle, but like VinFast, Polestar's future seems directly linked to the policies of the Trump administration in the United States. What's more, unlike Volvo, which is reversing its decision to go all-electric, Polestar has already made the leap into the 100% electric vehicle category. Will this decision come back to haunt Polestar?
This offer ends on January 2, 2026, and only applies to consumers who pay cash or personally arrange financing for the vehicle.
$21,000 for the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz
We conclude with the ID. Buzz, a retro-style electric van that brings smiles to many faces on the road... until the MSRP is mentioned. In its most affordable trim, the ID. Buzz carries a price tag of $77,495. Once all fees are applied, in addition to the $21,000 discount, the bill comes in just under $60,000. However, taxes must be added. It should also be noted that the larger-than-life discount only applies to consumers who pay cash. It's no coincidence that the Wolfsburg-based protagonist finished third in our most recent comparison test in The 2026 Auto Guide. Incidentally, Volkswagen has confirmed that there will be no 2026 model in Canada due to inventory issues, but the company plans to accelerate the release of the 2027 model.
