Otogo launches its vehicle comparison tool

March 21, 2023 — Written by Otogo

Do you have trouble choosing between different vehicle models? Would you like to be able to compare multiple vehicles that interest you? Otogo has developed a vehicle comparator to help you make a more informed decision when buying a used vehicle.

How the comparison tool works

The comparison tool allows you to place up to 4 vehicles side-by-side to better visualize their characteristics as well as the Car Guide's evaluation scores. The criteria evaluated by the Car Guide allow you to compare safety, reliability, fuel consumption and many other aspects deemed important to consider when shopping for a vehicle.

To add a vehicle, click on the comparison icon (arrows icon) in the vehicle detail pages or directly on the vehicle tiles. This same icon will turn blue and the car will be added to the comparison tool. Just click again on the comparison icon to remove the vehicle from the comparison tool.

The comparison tool is available to all people who have created an account on otogo.ca. You must go to your personal account to access it. Moreover, when you add or remove a vehicle from the comparison tool, a notification including a link to the comparison tool will appear on your screen.

Tips for using the comparison tool

To use the comparison tool properly, we suggest a few tips:

  1. Identify your needs and the vehicle features that are most important to you
  2. Choose up to 4 different models
  3. Identify the most interesting models
  4. Repeat until you find the model that fits your needs

The first step is to identify what you are looking for in order to make a more thoughtful choice. It is therefore important to identify your needs (number of seats, towing capacity, etc.) as well as prioritize the vehicle's features (safety is 1st, fuel economy is 2nd, etc.).

The second is to choose up to 4 different models. It is important to choose different models to compare and make a more informed decision.

The third step is to identify the most interesting models. After comparing vehicles, you may well have found a model that interests you a lot (e.g. Honda Civic). If so, it's a good idea to compare several different years of that model. Features and ratings in the Car Guide may vary from year to year as the manufacturer makes changes to the model.

Finally, you can repeat the first three steps until you find a vehicle that meets your needs in terms of features, price, location and mileage.

Good research!
