Top 10 most valuable car brands in 2025
Vehicle sales are one thing, but they don't tell the whole story about the success and value of automotive companies, especially in the current economic climate with tariff measures and the slowdown in the electric vehicle market. Consumer volatility is another issue.
This week, Interbrand published its 2025 ranking of the world's most valuable companies. Tech giants such as Apple ($470.9 billion), Microsoft ($388.5 billion), and Amazon ($319.9 billion) unsurprisingly occupy the top spots, but there are also no fewer than 16 automakers in the top 100—though General Motors and Ford are notably absent.
Nissan, despite all its setbacks, ranks 82nd with a valuation of $9.4 billion. Not far behind, Chinese giant BYD, absent from the 2024 ranking, ranks 90th this year at $8.1 billion. “BYD is the biggest disruptor in the automotive market since Tesla,” says Manfredi Ricca, Interbrand's global strategy director. “Its product is world-class, and the company has made tremendous progress in the European market thanks to its expansion from its Asian base.”
