This BMW M4 will be limited to 40 units, all of which are reserved for Canada
BMW is back with another special edition that will be available exclusively in Canada and nowhere else in the world. It’s the 2027 M4 Coupe M Legacy Edition, which celebrates the 40th anniversary of BMW’s high-performance two-door coupe, formerly known as the M3 Coupe.
Why just here? Well, it’s largely because Canada was the world’s second-largest market for BMW M vehicles in terms of sales share in 2025 and remains, year after year, one of the most important markets. “This limited-edition model is a tribute to the enthusiastic Canadian M community as well as to BMW’s commitment to offering exclusive, high-performance vehicles tailored to their tastes,” says the German automaker.
Customers will have the choice between the 473-horsepower rear-wheel-drive M4 Coupe with a manual transmission and the 523-horsepower M4 Competition Coupe with an automatic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive.
The special edition stands out first and foremost for its wheels featuring an exclusive bronze-gold finish, a unique color previously reserved for CS models. It is available in one of three paint colors inspired by the M division’s rich heritage: Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue Metallic, and Imola II Red—a nod to the signature tricolor logo.
In addition, there are “M” graphics painted in black on the hood and trunk. In fact, this is the first time they’ve been offered on the Canadian market.
As for the interior, it features an M steering wheel in Alcantara suede, just like in the ultra-sporty and exclusive M4 CS and CSL. The M bucket seats with carbon fiber frames are upholstered in black Merino leather, the dashboard is finished in Nappa leather, and carbon fiber trim accents enhance the interior.
Let’s not forget the M Driver’s Package, which increases the top speed to 290 km/h and includes a one-day BMW Driving Experience course.
The 2027 BMW M4 Coupé M Legacy Edition will be limited to 40 units and will start at $115,500 for the M4 Coupé and $124,500 for the M4 Competition Coupé. This represents a $17,000 premium over the standard models. Production in Germany will begin in June, and the cars will arrive at Canadian dealerships before the end of the summer.
