The most sought-after used vehicles by Quebecers in 2025

Inflation in the new vehicle market continued in 2025, albeit at a slower pace than the previous year. The new customs surcharges are obviously not helping matters.

The solution for many consumers is to turn to used vehicles. Demand for used vehicles increased in 2025, as did their average price, which exceeded $35,000. Inventories are improving, but remain limited.

Due to the economic climate, many people now prioritize affordability and value over luxury. What types of models were Quebecers looking for most in 2025? To find out, we analyzed the most viewed pages on Otogo.ca throughout the year.

Once again, it comes as no surprise that SUVs are the most sought-after type of vehicle. In 2025, their ads were viewed about 2.5 times more than those of any other category. Pickup trucks came in second, ahead of sedans and hatchbacks. Next came sports coupes and convertibles. Vans and station wagons lagged far behind in searches.

The majority of people searched for used vehicles between three and five years old (model years 2021 to 2023). Nearly new vehicles (model year 2024) were also in high demand. Reasons for this include initial depreciation, lower mileage, better condition, and a valid original manufacturer's warranty.

Since used vehicles between three and five years old are the most popular, this also results in the highest number of searches in the 40,000 to 60,000 km mileage range. As in previous years, there are still many page views in each of the other ranges. Interestingly, almost as many people searched for models with 100,000 to 110,000 km as for models with less than 10,000 km.

In terms of price, according to Otogo statistics, used vehicles ranging from $25,000 to $30,000 were the most sought after in 2025, closely followed by those between $20,000 and $25,000. Finally, we see that models priced at $10,000 and under generate similar interest to those priced at $35,000 and above.
