The all-new electric Toyota C-HR+ would look great on our roads
You may remember the Toyota C-HR, the small, gasoline-powered crossover with a splashy design that went on sale in Canada from 2018 to 2022. Well, the all-new C-HR+ unveiled for the first time today is a completely different, 100% electric vehicle.

The design of the Toyota C-HR+ is very attractive, even sporty, with a coupe-like roofline and rear door handles once again concealed in the frame. Other highlights include its athletic stance, contrasting roof and lower body color, and aggressive headlight styling inspired by Toyota's latest cars.
Although the C-HR+ is relatively short (4,520 mm), its wheelbase reaches 2,750 mm, making for a spacious cabin with a distance of 900 mm between the front and rear seatbacks. Trunk volume is 416 liters according to European calculations.
The front seats, under a panoramic roof, feature ambient lighting, two wireless phone chargers and a 14-inch multimedia screen as standard.
Tough and powerful
The Toyota C-HR+ is built on the e-TNGA platform and offers two battery options (57.7 and 77 kWh gross capacity), a front-wheel drive variant and an all-wheel drive variant. According to Toyota's WLTP standard, maximum range is up to 600 km, which for us would mean just over 500 km.
In terms of power, the four-wheel-drive C-HR+ develops 338 hp (like the upgraded Toyota bZ4X to come) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. The front-wheel-drive model generates 165 or 221 hp, depending on the battery used.
By the way, an 11 kW onboard charger is included as standard, while higher versions benefit from a 22 kW charger. Fast charging on a DC (Level 3) station can reach up to 150 kW. The engineers have also equipped the C-HR+ with a new battery preconditioning system and an energy-efficient heat pump that speeds up the charging process, especially in cold weather.
What else? Well, it’s worth mentioning that the suspension components have been specially tuned for this new model, particularly the performance of the springs and dampers, as well as the stiffness of the anti-roll bars. The electric power steering has also been reprogrammed for better responsiveness.
The launch of the Toyota C-HR+ will begin in some European markets towards the end of 2025 and in the rest of the continent in 2026. Its arrival in North America is yet to be confirmed, but we can easily imagine this vehicle on our roads as a more affordable companion to the bZ4X (let’s remember that the project for a three-row electric SUV has been postponed to the first half of 2026).
