The Acura NSX seen in the movie The Avengers will be up for sale.
The Acura NSX Roadster, as seen in the 2012 film The Avengers, will make its first public appearance more than a decade later at Monterey Car Week, currently taking place in California.
Although it looks more like a second-generation NSX, don't be fooled. California-based Trans FX, a company specializing in composite manufacturing based in Oxnard, created this NSX Roadster specifically for the Marvel feature film. The bodywork is largely inspired by the concept unveiled at the 2012 North American International Auto Show.
The similarities end there, as the resin and fiberglass body was hand-prepared and then installed on a first-generation NSX. The model in question was from 1991 and had 252,000 miles (or 405,555 km) on the odometer! Subsequently, 18-inch wheels and aftermarket seats were added. The suspension was also lowered by two inches. At the rear, the license plate read “33 Stark,” in homage to the wealthy Tony Stark (Iron Man), played by Robert Downey Jr.
The exotic car will be on display at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering on August 15—an opportunity to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the first-generation NSX. Afterward, Acura plans to auction it off in 2026. The proceeds will be donated to various organizations. In addition, a 1995 NSX-R, a 1999 NSX Zanardi Edition, and the prototype of the new 100% electric RSX SUV will also be on display.
