Subaru unveils the Forester Wilderness 2026
Although the Forester range has been renewed for the 2025 model year, Subaru has chosen to keep the old Wilderness version on the market. Distributed exclusively on the North American market, this version is necessarily adapted from the regular model. A vehicle to which Subaru has made a number of technical and cosmetic modifications. As a result, the manufacturer had no choice but to delay the arrival of the new-generation Forester Wilderness, which will finally go on sale in autumn 2025.
On the menu is a more muscular style, characterized by a black hood, multiple orange accents and bumpers that are partially detachable and therefore easier to replace. The vehicle is also equipped with Yokohama Geolander tires mounted on 17-inch anthracite-finish wheels, making it easier to drive in difficult situations.

Capable of towing a load of up to 3,500 lbs, it features several technical elements borrowed directly from the Crosstrek of the same name, also reserved for the North American market. This includes its 2.5-liter, 180 hp engine, also found in the rest of the Forester range, with the exception of the new 194 hp Premier e-Boxer hybrid version.
The Forester Wilderness thus gains in capability and convenience for 2026, more effectively replicating models such as the Ford Bronco Sport Badlands, GMC Terrain AT4, Hyundai Tucson XRT and Toyota RAV4 Trail. Pricing will naturally be revealed towards the end of summer 2025, on the eve of its commercial launch.
