Pre-Owned Jeep Grand Cherokee: How Much Should You Pay?
2022 saw a new generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but the manufacturer keeps producing the previous one (WK) for those who want a slightly more affordable option and don’t need all the latest gadgets and technologies.

Before going any further, you must know that a brand-new 2022 Grand Cherokee has a $54,740 starting price (transport and preparation included), while a 2022 Grand Cherokee WK will cost at least $53,140.
When searching on Otogo.ca today, you’ll find over 300 specimens of pre-owned Jeep Grand Cherokees covering years 2005 to 2022. If we exclude the latest generation demos, prices generally range between $4,000 and $87,000. Just in case you forgot, we’re talking about a premium midsize SUV with outstanding off-road abilities.
Now, if we take a look at older models (before 2010), the choice is limited, and the prices vary widely. Of course, mileage has a big impact here. For example, a 2007 Grand Cherokee Limited with over 277,000 km is listed at $4,800, while a 2008 Overland trim with 75,000 km is almost $17,000.
A vast majority of potential buyers will turn to the WK generation (2011 to 2021), and rightly so. You can find several examples under $20,000, unsurprisingly, but they will rarely be more recent than 2015 and have less than 140,000 km of mileage.
The options are far more plentiful towards the end of the generation, that is, 2016 models or newer. The cheapest versions, like the Laredo or the Altitude, begin around $25,000 approximately, and some of them have been driven less than 100,000 km, which is appealing. On the other hand, high-end trims like the SRT or the Summit can easily be worth over $70,000 when they are still covered by the original warranty.
One of the best offers we’ve seen is a 2018 Grand Cherokee Limited with almost 52,000 km for just under $35,000. Its grille and side mirrors with chrome accents contrast with the black fender edges and 20-inch wheels. Under the hood is the reputed 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with its 295 horsepower, a robust and reliable engine. Let’s also mention its black leather interior and included tow package.
