Porsche announces three new all-wheel 911s for 2026
The majority of Canadian customers who choose S versions of the Porsche 911 have historically opted for four-wheel drive. Well, with the new Carrera 4S coupe and convertible as well as the Targa 4S, the company is doubling the number of all-wheel-drive versions of the 911 for the 2026 model year.
All three cars feature the Carrera S's improved drive system. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine now develops 473 hp, a gain of 30 hp. Thanks in part to the optimized intercooling system, whose design was taken from that of the 911 Turbo.
As with previous models, the water-cooled front differential clutch is electromechanically controlled. Only the gear ratio has been slightly modified. An eight-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox transmits power to all four wheels.
According to Porsche, the 911 Carrera 4S Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds (with the Sport Chrono package) and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h.
Enhanced equipment
At the same time, the standard equipment on the new all-wheel drive 911s has been significantly enhanced. These include improved Carrera S wheels, 20“ at the front and 21” at the rear, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+) and a sports exhaust system.
The braking system is taken from the GTS models, with red calipers and 408 mm front and 380 mm rear discs. The 911 Targa 4S adds rear-wheel steering as standard.
The leather-trimmed interior offers four seats in the Cabriolet and Targa versions, but only two in the Coupe. However, for the latter, an optional rear-seat system can be configured at no extra cost. Wireless smartphone charging is also included as standard.
Other available features include electrically folding exterior mirrors with ambient lighting, Lighting Design Package, auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors with integrated rain sensor, and Lane Tracking System.
What's the price?
Orders have already been accepted and prices are now known. The new Porsche 911 Carrera 4S 2026 starts at $173,400 (plus fees). The 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet 2026 starts at $187,700, and the 911 Targa 4S 2026 at $189,600.
