Nissan Pathfinder 2026: something new… but only two versions on the menu
A week before its first public appearance at the Los Angeles Auto Show, Nissan announced upcoming changes to the Pathfinder for the 2026 model year, which marks the halfway point for the current generation launched four years ago.
Note that the number of available versions will be significantly reduced, from six to just two: Rock Creek and Platinum.
First, the designers have slightly redesigned the front and rear (especially the grille and lights), added satin exterior emblems, and added Baltic Turquoise to the color palette, which you can see here in the images.
The Pathfinder Rock Creek once again features raised ground clearance, all-terrain tires, and optimized suspension, in addition to a unique bumper and grille, LED fog lights, and a tubular roof rack.
The top-of-the-line Platinum version features black roof rails instead of silver ones. Its upgrades also include a new 20-inch wheel design.
Creek trim includes exclusive faux leather seats with Lava Red stitching and a new panoramic sunroof, while the most luxurious model features new stitching patterns and faux wood trim for added refinement.
Next, the 360-degree viewing system has been enhanced to include a wide-angle front view (180 degrees) and a transparent hood view. This will be a great help, for example, when backing out of a driveway or parking lot, and then better positioning the wheels on the rails of a car wash or on a trail.
The 2026 Pathfinder remains a mid-size eight-seat SUV, but the Platinum version will continue to offer the option of captain's chairs in the second row. No changes on the engine front: the 3.5-liter V6 remains in place, developing 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, for a towing capacity of 6,000 lb.
On sale in spring 2026
It should be noted that imports of the Pathfinder from the United States, as well as those of the Murano and Frontier, were suspended at the end of May due to Canadian counter-tariffs.
However, after contacting Nissan Canada, Le Guide de l'auto learned that production of the three models for the Canadian market will resume in the spring. Note, however, that prices for the 2026 Pathfinder, which will inevitably be higher, have not yet been announced. Since the two least expensive versions in 2025 will not be returning, buyers will have to shell out a lot more money.
Its luxurious cousin, the Infiniti QX60, itself updated for 2026, began to be imported back into Canada in limited numbers last month.
