Mazda3 2025: one last lap before the redesign
The Mazda3, which has accustomed us to rather short cycles, stretches its fourth generation with a seventh year. The 2025 models of the sedan and Mazda3 Sport hatchback will arrive in dealerships towards the end of July.
The same two engines remain on the menu: a 2.5-liter naturally-aspirated four-cylinder developing 191 hp, and a turbocharged variant producing up to 250 hp. The former is still available with a six-speed manual gearbox (Mazda3 Sport GT only), and can be accompanied by i-Activ all-wheel drive by opting for the six-speed automatic. The second is paired exclusively with the automatic and all-wheel drive.
The GT and higher versions of Mazda's compact car add Alexa integration for 2025. Drivers will be able to use voice commands to adjust the temperature, tune to a radio station or control smart home appliances, for example. This is good news considering the lack of user-friendliness of Mazda's infotainment interface.
Furthermore, the navigation system has been enhanced to provide more information and directions, with the option of updating itself remotely.
Increased by $700 from 2024, the retail price of the 2025 Mazda3 sedan ranges from $24,900 to $38,100, not including $1,995 for shipping and preparation. Add $750 for an equivalent hatchback.
The Suna edition of the Mazda3 Sport ($39,600) returns to the top of the range, featuring a Zircon Sand Metallic body with black-finish wheels and mirror caps, as well as terracotta-colored leatherette and stitching on the interior.
In 2025, Mazda is set to present a fifth generation of the Mazda3 as a 2026 model. The design will evolve both inside and out, but the main change should be under the hood, with the arrival of an optional hybrid powertrain.
