Honda CR-V 2026: more technology and a TrailSport version
The Honda CR-V 2026 will arrive in dealerships later this spring and, as previously announced, its main new feature is the addition of a TrailSport version. The company is banking on the craze for adventure-oriented, off-road vehicles. In fact, 30% of Honda Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline sales are TrailSport models.
Before we go any further, let's mention that the CR-V 2026's equipment has been upgraded. A 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger are now standard. In all hybrids, a new 10.2-inch fully digital instrument panel has been added.
In addition, the off-road traction management system (14 km/h or less) on all-wheel drive CR-Vs has been improved. By the way, Honda is still keeping an LX version with front-wheel drive to lower the starting price. The CR-V Touring Hybrid also features infotainment with integrated Google.
CR-V TrailSport
Looking a little more rugged, the new Honda CR-V TrailSport Hybrid comes with exclusive 18-inch wheels fitted with Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires and a new Ash Green Metallic exterior color, like the Passport TrailSport 2026. It is also recognizable by its badges, orange accents and gloss black rear spoiler.
The interior of the TrailSport version is distinguished by the TrailSport logo embroidered on the front seat headrests and molded onto the all-weather rubber mats. There's also ambient lighting in the floor, overhead console, doors and cupholders.
Unfortunately, that's where the modifications end, with no reinforced suspension or increased ground clearance, for example. The roof rack is optional. Like other hybrid-powered CR-Vs, this one generates 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque. It is likely to consume slightly more fuel than the 6.4 L/100 km claimed by Natural Resources Canada.
Prices for the Honda CR-V 2026 will be announced in the next few weeks. For information, the outgoing 2025 model ranges from $39,498 to $53,593 including all applicable fees.
