Here's how much the new Honda Civic hybrid 2025 costs
Honda has announced prices for the updated Honda Civic 2025 sedan, two of whose four versions now feature hybrid powertrains.
Entry-level Civic LX and Sport models with 158 hp engines start at $29,493 and $33,353 respectively, including all costs. This is a reasonable $650 increase over the 2024 models. On the other hand, we're getting dangerously close to a future where no Civic will cost less than $30,000 before taxes. Think about that for a second.
As a reminder, the Civic 2025's exterior benefits from touch-ups at both ends, including a more dynamic-looking grille and new, darker taillights. There are also three new body colors and new USB-C ports.
Hybrid strength
As with the Accord and CR-V, Honda's hybrid technology is reserved for the more expensive versions of the Civic 2025: the $35,248 Sport Hybrid and the $38,748 Sport Touring Hybrid. The former costs $2,335 less than the sporty Civic Si (2024), whose changes for 2025 will be announced later while offering identical power.
We're talking 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque (40 more than the Civic Si). The four-cylinder engine teams up with two electric motors and a continuously variable transmission. When braking or decelerating, steering-wheel-mounted selectors allow the intensity of energy recovery to be adjusted according to four levels.
Honda is promising average fuel consumption of 4.8 and 4.9 L/100 km, respectively, with the two electrified versions of the Civic, a reduction of more than 2 L/100 km compared with the regular sedan.
Here's how the Honda Civic Hybrid's main rivals compare (all-inclusive price):
- Hyundai Elantra hybrid 2024 - 139 hp, 195 lb-ft, 4.7 L/100 km, from $30,506
- Toyota Corolla hybrid 2024 - 138 hp, 4.7 to 5.3 L/100 km, from $29,567
- Toyota Prius 2024 - 196 hp, 4.8 L/100 km, from $40,527
You should also know that Honda engineers have made unique adjustments to the suspension, installed specially designed tires and made the cabin the quietest of any Civic to date. Inside, the top-of-the-range Sport Touring Hybrid version is the only one to benefit from the integration of Google functionalities into Honda's infotainment system.
Production of the new Civic 2025 hybrid sedan begins this month at the Alliston, Ontario plant, and units will be arriving at dealerships very soon. The 2025 Civic hatchback, including hybrid versions, will arrive later this summer.
