Here are 6 models expected on our market in 2026
Speaking on Salut Bonjour, columnist Antoine Joubert lists six vehicles that will soon be available on the Canadian market. Most of them are new-generation models, while Honda is re-launching a small sports car that disappeared over 20 years ago.
“It's a particularly popular vehicle with us, and it's the biggest seller in its segment,” explains the expert. In fact, the Audi Q3 will enter a new generation in 2026 to face up to its fierce competition. It promises to offer much more space on board. Mechanically, it will also offer a hybrid version capable of driving up to 90 km. We'll be testing it in the coming months!
“25 years after its disappearance, the Prelude is back with us,” exclaimed Antoine. The little sports car will be equipped with a hybrid powertrain and a CVT that simulates gears. We can't wait to see how the coupe handles!
The three-row mid-size SUV is now in its second generation. “It will be arriving in dealerships in the next five to six weeks with a V6 engine,” says Antoine. Around September or October, hybrid variants will go on sale. The more powerful hybrids produce 329 hp and can tow up to 4,000 lb.
The Mazda CX-5 gets a facelift in 2026, with more space and a new 15.6-inch multimedia screen (optional). However, the turbocharged engine is sidelined in favor of the naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. Fortunately, this is a reliable and efficient unit.
Here's one that needed a major update. The third-generation LEAF is based on the same platform as the Ariya, so range climbs to 488 km with the help of the large 75 kWh battery. What's more, the LEAF will be compatible with both J1772 and NACS ports. “It'll be here in time for the holidays,” says Antoine.
Polestar 4
The Polestar 4 is certainly unique in that it has no rear window. Instead, it relies on a roof-mounted camera to provide a wider field of vision. The vehicle is eligible for the provincial rebate, and its range is up to 482 km with the rear-wheel drive model.
