Chevrolet Corvette 2026: a breath of fresh air on board

The eighth-generation Chevrolet Corvette is about to embark on its seventh year, and for the occasion it will be treated to an extensively redesigned interior, as unveiled today.

The most eye-catching feature, of course, is the new group of screens, with their brighter colors and clearer information. The infotainment system screen expands to 12.7 inches, and the digital instrument panel to 14 inches. And a third, 6.6-inch touchscreen is added to the left of the steering wheel, making performance and trip data easier to access.

“There's an intentional balance between physical and virtual controls,” explains Performance Driving Product Manager Dusty Smith. For example, the controls for the head-up display are now virtual, allowing those for the traction management system to take the form of intuitive physical buttons."

New console

The center console, meanwhile, has been redesigned to better position the main controls. The redesigned driving mode selector is now aligned with the buttons that control the transmission, leaving space for a new wireless charger (with a cover to hold the phone in place). The volume knob is also larger and illuminated at the base for ease of use.

Another big change on board the Corvette 2026 concerns the temperature and ventilation controls, which have been repositioned below the central screen. So forget the cascade of buttons near the front passenger: the latter will be less isolated and can rely on a new grab handle instead, with an integrated USB-C port underneath.

Even more options

What's new? These include improved cupholders, the Performance application now available in all Corvette versions (not just the E-Ray), and the redesign of the optional performance data recorder. The multimedia system with integrated Google provides access to applications, games and web browsers.

There are also more customization options than ever before, including four new interior color combinations, including an asymmetrical Jet Black and Adrenaline Red decor that's a Corvette first.

And that's not all, as the 2026 model adds a traction management mode called PTM Pro that minimizes the intervention of electronic control systems to leave more freedom to the driver. New, more powerful brakes accompany the Corvette ZR1 equipped with the ZTK performance package, and a new glass roof with adjustable opacity is available. As for the bodywork, two new colors are offered: Roswell Green Metallic and Blade Silver Metallic.

“For more than five years, the Corvette has dominated the luxury sports car segment in terms of sales in Canada, with a clear lead over its closest competitor,” said Chevrolet brand manager in Canada, James Hodge. With these latest updates, the mid-engined Corvette is poised to strengthen its position and continue to dominate the segment in the future."

Further details on the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette line-up, including pricing, will be announced at a later date.
